Frequently asked

The house answers

For everything else, one call is enough.

Why can a dish run out?

Because the menu is written after the morning auction. What is missing on a given day is what was not caught: it is not a stock failure, it is the sea. We tell you as you sit down.

Where do the oysters come from?

From the Anse Coulinet beds, lifted every morning. They are opened to order, never in advance: an oyster opened too early loses its liquor, and the liquor is half the dish.

Should I book?

It is advisable, above all at the weekend and for Sunday lunch. Online, or on +33 5 36 49 00 77 during service. A few counter seats are kept unreserved.

Can the terrace be booked?

Yes, like the room — but it depends on the weather. The house calls back the day before if the quay will not hold.

Do you have a children’s menu?

Yes, Le Petit Mousse, for children of twelve and under: one dish, one sweet and a drink, at 14 €.

Do you have dishes without fish?

Yes. L’Onglet de la Prairie for meat, and Le Maraîcher with neither meat nor fish: market-garden vegetables, a smoked soft egg, cider beurre blanc.

How do I check allergens?

A register is available on request — crustaceans and molluscs included. Speak to the team before ordering.

What payment do you accept?

Cards and cash. The house does not accept cheques.

Do you deliver?

No. Seafood platters are ordered the day before by telephone and collected at the bank. Fish travels badly, and we would rather say so.

How do I get there?

7 quai des Mareyeurs, 17999 Port-Séverin. Port-Séverin halt, seven minutes on foot.

Can the room be hired privately?

Yes. Write to the house with the date and the number of guests; it replies within twenty-four hours. From eight covers, the telephone is simplest.
